Language learning trips
How do we support learning Estonian?
On our language learning trips, it is possible to develop your Estonian language skills while discovering Estonian culture.
The plans of the trips abide by the following principles:
- language practice in everyday situations: on the trips, you can practice Estonian in a suitable language environment, acquire new expressions, and get comfortable with everyday communication;
- Estonian culture at your fingertips: on the trips, we will visit museums, manors, theatres, and other exciting places that reveal the rich cultural heritage of Estonia;
- friendly and supportive group: the trips are attended by other language enthusiasts, with whom it is safe to build courage and exchange experiences.
Who can participate?
All adult learners of Estonian, i.e. long-term residents, returnees, and newly arrived immigrants, whose native language is not Estonian and whose language skills are at least at the basic level (A2). Up to 40 people can participate in one trip.
How to participate?
The trips start from Tallinn until June 2025 and from Narva until December 2025.
These are day trips are and take place mainly on weekends. We will visit different interesting regions of Estonia:
- Harju, Järva, Lääne, Lääne-Viru, and Viljandi counties: cultural and historical manors, historic churches, museums, theatres, and places of natural beauty;
- Tartu: a walk in the old town, visit to the University of Tartu and museums;
- Tallinn: Kumu Art Museum, Kadriorg Park, Maarjamäe Castle, Film Museum, and much more;
- Rakvere and its surroundings: Rakvere Castle, Vallimägi Hill, the Tarvas Sculpture, and manors of Lääne-Viru County;
- many other exciting destinations while we discover Estonian culture together.
How is it organised?
We organise the language learning trips in cooperation with partners, whom we involve through public procurement.
