Estonian language and culture
Finding the common language

Organisation
Based on daily activities and research, we know that learning the Estonian language and getting to know Estonian culture supports comprehensive integration. We consider these activities part of the integration process and therefore offer opportunities and develop teaching methodologies.
The activities are organised by specialists from the Estonian Language House and development centre and implemented by cooperation partners (language schools, cultural institutions, etc.). We cooperate with many other organisations related to Estonian language learning (e.g. the Estonian Language Council, the advisory committee of the Estonian Language House, the Unemployment Insurance Fund, etc.).
In our activities, we are guided by the strategy of the Foundation and action plans for Estonian language learning, as well as the national policy and the best practice guidelines for teaching Estonian to adults. For the implementation of these activities, we use state budget and foreign funds, which, together with the activities based on the status of the learner, are planned by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Education and Research, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
